When I work in fabric, I immerse myself in the sensory aspect of the materials in addition to the visual statement. The color, texture, weight and flexibility of the medium all have an effect on the process and direction of the piece. "Indigo Muse" immediately took on its own life, but "A Nod to G. O'Keeffe" and "Degas Denim" came from visualizations and internal images that guided the work. "Sometimes I'm Open and Sometimes I'm Closed" speaks to the self many of us keep within. I am pleased to share these works with you.
